Wow, tomorrow is our 23rd wedding anniversary! It doesn't feel like that long. But then I look at Katie and realize, what else could it be? LOL
We were such kids. I look at the pictures, and we were so young. It was such a beautiful day. Perfect weather.
I got 1 bite of cake :)
My sisters packed a basket of food for us from the reception, so we had something to eat afterwards.
My cousins sprinkled the car with rice and confetti, and wrapped ribbons around the outside, so we couldn't get the doors open.
We drove to Tahoe, got in late. It felt so odd and grownup, going somewhere alone with him like that.

I remember taking a walk, weeks later, thinking "wow, we've been married 6 whole weeks already!" I couldn't imagine where we'd be now.
I think on the whole I'm pretty pleased with how it's gone :)

Rachel and Aaron engaged 8/3/07

It's official, with a ring and everything! Aaron flew in today, Rob picked him up at the airport and brought him to our house. Rachel didn't know. They were talking on the phone as she drove home. As she walked in the door, he said "well I haven't asked you in a while" on the phone. Then said, to her in person, "Will you marry me?"

He was sitting around the corner and she hadn't seen him. But then she realized he was actually there and stumbled back against the wall, she was so excited! He had a bouquet of white roses (provided by me and symbolizing eternity) for her. She was so glad to see him. They hugged and kissed, and of course she cried. Thank goodness she said yes - it would have been awfully awkward otherwise :)

August already! Matthew has a field trip with school to the San Francisco zoo. He kept telling me to put long pants on him, but I made him wear shorts. I get to school and everybody's wearing long pants. Oops! I guess they told them to at school. Somehow that didn't make it to me. Oh well, he's got a sweatshirt, he should be fine. Heaven knows, he's got plenty of energy to burn and keep warm with :)

Trying to Slow down

So I've called my blog Trying to Slow Down. And now I'm just not so sure. Sometimes I think lately I take things a little too slow.
